About the Artist:
Marlene Souza is the creative and dynamic influence behind Molly B’s Cakes of Distinction and Design. Specializing in custom made artisan cakes, she will be delighted to design a cake for your wedding or any other special occasion.
 Born in New York, Marlene’s curiosity for baking began when she was a young girl who observed her mother and grandmother creating the traditional family recipes that eventually would inspire her interest in culinary arts. As an adult Marlene would continue her enthusiasm for baking that flourished as a hobby while she was raising her family. A self taught business woman, Marlene has been successfully designing and creating cakes for over thirty years.
She decided to return to school to pursue her passion for the creative arts, and enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program at Johnson and Wales University. Marlene
received her Baking and Pastry Arts degree in the spring of 2007.
With the help of her family and friends, Marlene has opened Molly B’s Cakes of Distinction and Design, a family supported business reminiscent of the fond memories created in the kitchen by her relatives years ago.
In Spring, of
2008, Molly B’s entered the “Mid-Atlantic Cake Show and Wedding Cake
Competition” in Westminster, MD. Marlene and her associate were
pleased to find out that one of their entries “Spring Delivery”
was featured in the August/September 2008 issue of American Cake
Decorating Magazine.
Marlene is
actively participating in competitions and has recently
competed in the Bristol Community College “Skills USA –
Fundraiser” which was held on April 4th, 2009.
